Members of the club take part in a wide variety of bike racing through out the year, in traffic free environments
OPEN EVENTS
Riders can race competitors from other club’s accross Scotland when they take part in road, track, grass track, mountain bike and cyclo cross races. Speak to a club coach for more details
TYPES OF RACING |

ROAD/CRIT Races take place on traffic free tarmac circuits using any kind of geared bike. Some races include a time trial |
Races take place on off road circuits. Riders use mountain bike or cyclo cross bikes |
TRACK Races take place on an indoor or outdoor wooden banked track like the Sir Chris Hoy Velodrome or on an outdoor tarmac track like the one in Dundee. Fixed wheel track bikes must be used. |
MTB Races take place on off road circuits. Riders use mountain bikes. Some races include a time trial. |
GRASS TRACK Races take place on grass ovals using fixed wheel track bikes (and knobbly tyres). The majority of Scottish grass track races take place at the Highland Games and riders have to be over 10 years of age. |
HILL CLIMBS These races are time trials up hill. Fastest time wins. Any type of bike can be used. |
